Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I need some help with my CotN game. I am having the same problem a lot of people are having. I can play the tutorials but when I try to play the Campain it closes itself. I have read through a lot of the threads here and noticed some people have posted their "dxdiag" in a link, but i don't know how to do that. Can someone please tell me how to post that? All my drivers were updated in 2004, I know they could use another update but I'm having problems finding the correct updates. If someone could tell me how to post my "dxdaig" and then take a look at it when i get it posted you would be much appreciated. Thank you.

First off, Thank you for the help getting my "dxdiag" file markduffy. Ok my problem is that I can only play the tutorials. When I try to start a campain and click to open the city the screen goes blank and it closes itself out. While I was looking around the forum the other night I found that a few people were able to fix this problem by updating their drivers. I don't know if this will work for me, I don't know much about computers:o . If someone could please look at my "dxdiag" file and give me any suggestions I would really appreciate it. If there is anyway for me to avoid having to get a new video card, it would be great as I am on a very limited budget. Once again thank you.
Hello grace4ever_99 and welcome! :)
A non techie here, but trying to help. I had a look at your dxdiag and I think your graphic card does not support some important element that is needed for CoTN. So sorry if that is the case.

Please see this thread and especially the 2nd post by Keith. (I found your card on this list.)
edit/ You better wait what the techies will say about all this. I probably confuse more than help.

Kiya is absolutely right. Your videocard is too old to be able to run CotN.
You also have not a lot of RAM available. 512 MB would be preferable, as Windows XP would profit from that as well. Also your CPU is low-end.
So - if you get a new video card, CotN would probably run, but only with the settings turned down.
Another tip: Try not to install anything else on your harddrvie C. It is getting full and Windows needs room to move data around.
