Will CotN have support for surround gaming? You know, for those of us that have the Matrox Parhelia cards.

Showoff! :p

I dunno... Have you ever seen a strategy game with surround gaming? I think it is still predominantly an FPS thing, so I'd guess the answer would be no, though you never know.

It was not my intent to show off.

That is what I thought, but never hurts to ask. Maybe they will make windowed an option?

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that your question was in any way inappropriate. I was just joking, hence the :p smiley. ;)

I don't have a fancy surround card, but I do like my extended desktop. I can play the game on one monitor and keep my references open on the other. On the rare occasion, I've gone into windowed mode of my current game and expanded the game window to encompass both monitors, but the break right down the middle is kinda annoying.

I dont really think this game would lend itself to multiple displays (or visa versa) extended desktops would be great in a flight sim for your HUD, in a racing game, for your rearview, overhead map or something in a FPS for the scoreboard and communication.. but im not really sure where it would be usefull for this

Perhaps for the control panel or the extended information, but honestly it doesnt seem nessesary, I would much rather see a better game. It just sounds like more trouble than it would ever be worth.

Is the Matrox card the only one supporting this technology? If so it's unlikely to become very popular with game developers.

Matrox is the only I have seen. Do they have a bad reputation?

I will say Matrox support is a little hit and miss. It seems that if a game doesn't work for their card, someone from Matrox will go buy the game (after it is released) and then start tinkering with drivers, etc. Fixes can be quite a process, usually with around 10-20 steps that can involve editing bios and registry settings. I wish they had much more direct dialog with game developers.

I have seen the name Matrox around, but don't know how they compare against what are referred to as the "more popular" brands of video cards.

Matrox is really a pro card intended for use by professional video editors, simulator users (as in flight sims for pilots and military),and movie editing :D That's why game support is spotty at best just intended for the retail user :D Also used by hardware designers like for autos or planes.
