Howdy all,
I havent had any graphics problems with C4 until now. But when I restarted the level after finishing it early, I got long dark shadows going across the map as well as it appearing to start at night instead of day, despite me not having the day/night cycle on. Here's a screenie of what I get.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? And whether it's a possible bug that TM has/hasnt found

It looks like a driver issue to me. If it keeps happening then try the older 91.33 drivers instead.
You may want to try a lower screen resolution with the current drivers like 1024x768 to see if it clears up or keeps it from happening.
You may want to increase the maximum size of your page files to at least double what you have in actual RAM (1536MB) from 1792 to 3072.
Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Peformance Settings button > Advanced tab > Virtual memory Change button > Check Custom Size radio button > Set Maximum Size (MB): to 3072 > Click Set. Click OK and close menues.

I haven't had any graphical problems from restarting, Recalcitrant Tuna, or doing anything else. Sorry! My Day/Night cycle is turned on. :)

I meant to type 91.31 since 91.33 (http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_winxp_2k_32bit_91.33.html) is an unofficial version. However, 91.33 has fixed problems for some people that 91.31 has not. So RT should keep it in mind.

Thank you all for your help. I have CCleaner although I wasnt aware it still had stuff that wasnt cleaned up. I shall run it now and see what it does for my registry.
....hmm, didnt find anything. But I do still have stronghold installed.
I will update my sound drivers, although they might not be causing any problems, it's always a good idea anyway. I have the 91.47 version of the nVidia drivers, although I have played the demo without any problems since installing those.
The interesting thing is when I started the demo, the first load went ok, but all subsequent loads gave the same problem. I will try the demo again and see if the change is permanent or if it's purely when restarting the level.
Many thanks Phil and Keith.

Keep us posted if the problem goes away or not.

I have discovered the problem. It is rather interesting. I have my shadows set to normal and my day/night cycle turned off in the options menu.
However, when I restart the level, the game sets shadows to extreme (the black lines) and the day/night cycle to night. I know because I tweaked around with the options, turned shadows off and turned the day/night cycle on and it worked fine.
It makes me wonder if either my installation of the demo is corrupted or if it's some unknown issue with the demo and my gfx card.
It was handy though to download regseeker and follow all the other advice in this thread as it's helped me PC muchly.

I'm glad to hear that you have it partially figured out. Re-installing the demo to rule out a corrupted install is easy enough to do.
